Bangkok @ Day 1
Celebrated my 3-year anniversary in Bangkok with my boyfriend. I woke up early morning to go airport as it was an early morning flight and I scared it will be crowded as this is school holiday season. The journey form Kuala Lumpur to Bangkok is about 2 hours 10 minutes. After collecting our luggage, we took an airport taxi to Baiyoke Suite Hotel where we will be staying for the entire trip. The airport taxi charge us 860 Baht (800 Baht for taxi while 60 baht for toll) as there is a heavy traffic jam in Bangkok caused by the mop. The journey from airport to hotel took us about 30 minutes. After check-in and freshen up our self in the Hotel we went to Terminal 21 for lunch. We took a Tuk Tuk nearby our hotel at 150 Baht for 2 person but he wanted our help to go 2 shop for window shopping so he can get free gas coupon so after spending 10 minutes in each shop he bring us to Terminal 21.
We had our lunch in Pier 21, which is most popular food court among Tourists and Locals. To buy any food in Pier 21 you have a buy a card reload with the value you wish wanted to dine-in as all the transaction is taken place in the form of card and not in cash. We reload 200 Baht for 2 people, it is more than enough for 2 of us, and we even have a balance of 10 Baht. We bought Mixed Rice, Mango Sticky Rice, Dessert, Jack Fruit, and Fried Oyster with Egg.
After our lunch, we started to walk around Terminal 21 as the shopping mall is decorated with the airport theme, which means every floor of the mall will be decorated with the different country theme from London to china. Therefore, it is a good place to experience different part of the country in 1 shopping complex.
After our shopping in Terminal 21, we planned to use Train to go back hotel instead of Taxi or Tuk Tuk. Therefore, to go back Baiyoke Suite Hotel from terminal 21 you have to go Phaya Thai using BTS Skytrain Sukhumvit Line then exchange to Airport Rail Link and buy ticket to Ratpraop. From Ratpraop its just 5-10 minutes walking distance to Baiyoke Suite Hotel.
At night, we went to Chao Phraya Dinner Cruise that I booked from Malaysia at 1400 baht per person including a cruise and a buffet dinner. As the transport is not included in our package we planned to use Tuk Tuk to go River City Shopping Complex where we have to board to the Cruise but as there is a Mop going on and it will be jammed on the way to the River City Shopping Complex no Tuk Tuk wanted to take the offer as they cannot use the highway so we have no choice but to take the Taxi at flat rate of 400 Baht for 2 person as we have to be in the boarding gate before 7.30 as the gate closes at 7.45pm. After reach the River City, we went to Chao Phraya Princess counter to collect our tickets. After collecting the tickets, we waited outside the gate for our boat to arrive, as there will be a seat number in the ticket itself it’s not necessary for rushing to get the place in the boat. As it is, only 2 of us we manage to get a place in front of the boat, which will be convenient for us, to take photo and enjoy the view.
The cruise is about 2 hours where you will pass by Wat Arun, Royal Palace, Bangkhhunprom palace, Kanlayanamitr Temple and Rama 8 Bridge and there will be a singing performance to entertain the guests. It was an amazing experience for me and the foods are nice especially I love their Tom Yum soup. After our Dinner we took a Tuk Tuk back hotel @ 400 Baht which is expensive for me but I have no choice as I scared I won’t get any Tuk Tuk or Taxi if I missed the Tuk Tuk (They use the mop as the reason to charge us more expensive)
