Wood & Steel @ Taman Tun Dr. Ismail
Finally, I had some time for gathering with my friends. We choose Wood & Steel café, TTDI, Kuala Lumpur (Next to Devi’s Corner) since it will be easier to get car parking at TTDI and also it is a lesser congested area in Petaling Jaya. I mean in terms of Traffic Jam. Wood & Steel is located at upstairs while the downstairs is occupied by another cafe. They serve Nibbles, Starters, Main Course, Pasta, Dessert and Beverages. We were greeted upon entering and the staff gave us the menu to browse through. You have to order and pay at the counter. Once the order is done, the staff will serve it to your table. We ordered Coney Dog, Calamari Rings, Champion Breakfast, Tempura Butter Cream and Seafood Agli Olio. The ambiance of the cafe was artistic and gives a vintage feeling. A couple of people occupied the cafe when we arrived at 7.30pm.
Calamari Rings tasted bland and oily to us. It really needs the sauce to go with. Moreover, the sauce tastes similar to the Keropok Lekor sauce that you can buy at any Pasar Malam.
Calamari Rings @ RM 15
Coney Dog was tasty. Soft & lightly toasted bread topped with their home made chilli beef sauce. Good but they should invest a bit more on a better quality of sausages for the price we paid. Of course, I expect a quality sausage from them. It is served with French Fries on the side. The fries was oily and soggy. My friend commented that they might reused the oil that they used to fry tempura for our pasta as we can see some small pieces of it in the fries.

Champion Breakfast was delicious except the sausages. Again sausage!!
Champion Breakfast @ RM 25
Seafood Aglio Olio was okay, not that best I have tried. I cannot feel any olive oil and chilli flakes taste.
Seafood Aglio Olio @ RM 27
Tempura Butter Cream was super duper good and it is the star of the night. A lovely combination of creamy and spicy flavour makes this a memorable dish. A wonderful fusion of Western and Malay cuisine. The pasta was cooked beautifully and the Cili Padi adds a good kick to it.

Overall, it was an average dinner for us. Their food was a fusion of Western and Malay cuisine but they need some improvements on certain dishes and also they should avoid reusing the same oil for different dishes to maintain its quality. Good service but it takes time to get the foods.
