Makan Kitchen @ DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel, Kuala Lumpur

My boyfriend brought me for dinner at the Makan Kitchen for our anniversary celebration. Thanks for the treat baby!! Makan Kitchen is located at Level 11, DoubleTree By Hilton, Kuala Lumpur. We walked into the reception and inform about our reservation. Later on, the hostess walked us to our reserved table. It was crowded when we arrived about 8pm and the crowd started to slow down around 9.30pm. Buffet has a wide variety of different cuisines like Indian Cuisine (Butter Naan, Cheese Naan, Tandoori Chicken, Briyani and other curry dishes too), Malay Cuisine (Asam Pedas, Satay, Grilled Chicken, Tom Yum and more choices as well), Chinese Cuisine (Peking Duck), Appetizers and Desserts (Cake, Ice Kacang, Fresh Fruits, Kuih-Muih and Ice-cream). FYI, Makan Kitchen has been shortlisted by Time Out KL Award for the Best Malay Cuisine numerous times. The ambiance of the place was simple and neat.

Buffet @ RM 135 (Weekday)
As for Indian food, my pick would be their Cheese Naan, Tandoori Chicken, Beetroot Poriyal, Kerala Chicken and Masala Papadum.
Rasam tastes superb. However, a layer of oil that floats on the top just stops me from having a second serving.
Cheese Naan tastes superb. Soft and fluffy Naan stuffed with cheese. YUM!! Although, I’m full I still managed to finish it off by myself.
The Peking Duck was damn good that I had 3 of it by myself. A magical combination of flavour and texture that melts in the mouth. The tender and flavourful duck meat, sweet & savoury hoising sauce and chewy crepe, basically all in one bite. Yum!! Most recommended to try in Makan Kitchen.
Malay Cuisine, my pick would be their Satay, Grilled Chicken and Fish Egg Curry. Its very rare to see a restaurant serves fish egg and I’m happy when I found it here.
I love their Red Velvet and Tiramisu, both just melts in the mouth while others are just normal to me.
They have 4 types of flavour to choose from and I choose to have Teh- Tarik flavour. Something unique than the normal ice-cream flavours and I’m not regretted for the great choice I have made. It tastes so good with my favourite toppings (Marshmellow, Walnut and Raisine).
Overall, it was a good anniversary celebration for us. For me, the choices are rather limited during our visit and I guess they have more choices during the weekends. If you guys, wanted to have a good Asian Cuisine, this is a perfect place for you.  Good hospitality during our visit.
