Day 1 @ Hat Yai, Thailand

It was a long holiday, thus I planned a short getaway to Hat Yai to celebrate my sister birthday. We decided to drive to Hat Yai; Thailand instead of taking flight since both of us loves long drive. FYI, it was so much fun and adventurous. We started our journey around 1.30am from Kuala Lumpur after a quick bite at MCD, Centerpoint and reached Hat Yai Boarder around 10.30am. We took a short break in between the drive and also there were 2 accidents along our way to Hat Yai Boarder. After all the immigration and custom checking, we were feeling dead and tired. Guys, if you wanted to know more details about Malaysia- Hat Yai Border Crossing, READ HERE!!
After exiting the Malaysia Boarder, we decided to have our lunch at Pranee Thai Cuisine before checking-in as we were hungry like wolves and the restaurant is located nearby our Hotel. It was an excellent late lunch for us in a gorgeous environment. I would say that it was a fantastic meal to welcome our stay in Hat Yai.
After our satisfied meal, we decided to explore the area as we saw some stalls selling flowers and fruits on our way to the Pranee Thai Cuisine. I’m crazy about roses, especially WHITE ROSES but sadly they don’t have it if not I would have bought a bunch of it. My sister bought a rose at THB 10/ RM 1.28. After walking around a while, we drove to our hotel.
I booked Ton Aoi Grand Hotel for our stay. It’s located within the city center and provides access to the cities must see attraction. Besides that, it was very peaceful and calm at night. The check-in was super smooth and I totally fell in love with direct sunlight shining through the window.
After a quick shower, we went Greenway Night market for dinner. It’s a quick 20-minute ride from our Hotel and it’s quite easy to get parking nearby the Greenway Night market. Believe it or not, I was really worried about getting my car parked in Hat Yai but I was totally wrong it was so easy to get a car parking everywhere in Hat Yai. The Greenway Night market is a huge place selling all ranges of accessories, clothes and foods.
Since we feel hungry, we straight went to the Greenway Food Court for quick dinner before our shopping. We bought a card at the entrance at THB 100/RM 12.77 each person with the pre-loaded value of THB 120/RM 15.32.Walk around the food court and order the food you like. After then, pay with the card and collect your food. We ordered Mango Salad, Mango Sticky Rice, Mango Frappe, Grilled Squid, Pad Thai and Thai Milk Tea. It sounds like a lot but the portion is a bit smaller that you can easily share among each other. The food court has table and chairs for the customers who wish to dine-in. I found that the food was delicious and priced reasonably. Small tips for your future planning, you can actually combine multiple cards to make payment at one particular to stall to avoid the cash value being void.
Remember to request less sweet for Thai Milk Tea, it tastes too sweet for me. After a delicious meal, we decided to go for shopping at the Greenway Night market. My sister bought 2 T-shirt and she commented that the qualities of the clothes are pretty good so guys this can be your shopping place too. After spending about 2 hours in the Greenway Night market, we decided to call it a day and back to our hotel for rest. Interesting?? Continue to Day 2 for more thrilling details!!
